    Abstract

Clinical characteristics of the visuospatial neglect between genders have not been elucidated in patients with unilateral visual neglect. This study aims to further observe the visual lateralization in patients with a novel cognitive assessment system with e-pen. Patients with early stage hemispheric brain lesions were recruited for assessment of the asymmetric neglect characteristics through a novice paper-andpencil based electronic cognitive assessment system. The results were assessed for deviation (cm), percent deviation (%), and neglected numbers. In addition, the degree of deviation was assessed by location and length of the bisecting lines. Although the directional biasness was less prevalent in females, the degree of biasness was comparatively prevalent. On the other hand, the center of mass effect may be more prevalent for males.
